Contract Details: AeroVironment, Inc., of Monrovia, Calif., was awarded a cost-plus fixed-fee contract with a potential maximum value of $108,400,000 for the design, fabrication, integration, and ground testing of a hydrogen powered Global Observer Unmanned Aircraft System. The system includes one aircraft and ground control station with integrated modular payloads and spares. The contract allows for options for up to two more aircraft and one more ground control station. The base contract includes contractor operation and logistics support for the Global Observer joint concept technology demonstrations, including flight testing, and also includes options for military utility assessment and engineering trade studies. The work will be performed in Monrovia from Sept. 21 through April 30, 2011. The contract number is H92222-07-C-0072.
