Contract Details: Inmarsat Navigation Ventures, Ltd., London, England, is being awarded a $18,038,126 firm-fixed-price contract (HR0011-10-C-0149) to develop and certify a transceiver terminal for the Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service provided by the I-4 constellation that is capable of operation from on-board a low earth orbit satellite; make appropriate modifications to the BGAN network to support space-based terminal equipment; support the integration of the space-based BGAN terminal with a government demonstration satellite; and support the on-orbit connectivity via the BGAN network for the demonstration satellite mission. Work will be performed in London, England (20.60 percent); Golden, Colo. (64.76 percent); Aylesbury, England (11 percent); Nørresundby, Denmark (2.15 percent); and Ottawa, Canada (1.49 percent). Work is expected to be completed in September 2015. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
